hello everyone!- my name is chryste.
- i am 20 years YOUNG.
- i live in ocean city, new jersey <3 i love it here!
- i am in my 3rd year of college! i am an education major.
- i honestly have NO idea what i wanna do with my life :-( it's stressful.
- i am in a relationship with my love justin <3 he is the best thing that has ever happened to me <3 8.23.2008
- i have a few close friends whom i love.
- i love to let loose and have a good time! i drink/smoke socially.
- i fear growing up! i wanna be young forever.
- the only t.v. show i watch is gossip girl, i am addicted to it!
- i love music! i listen to everything but my favorite has to be rap! right now i am loving nicki minaj.
- i love to travel! it is one of my passions! my favorite places to go are philadelphia and new york city.
- basic interest include - starbucks, driving, the color pink, hello kitty, traveling, going to the beach, going to school, working, going online, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, peace signs, being wild, having fun, laughing, taking pictures, shopping, movies that make you feel something, my macbook, nature, warm weather, spring, summer & fall, christmas, snow, holidays, family, animals esp. cats, ipods, make up, food, drinks, living life.
- i can get along with anyone and everyone so even if we may not have something in common you can add me because i love meeting all different kinds of people & reading about their life! i talk about my random adventures & post lots of pictures mostly. i comment when i have something to say & usually always am checking up on my friends page!

I am a 24 year old engaged mother with one daughter.
I love to read books, write random thoughts down, listen to music, and watch my daughter grow.
I am an Avon Rep by day and a movie junkie by night.
I absolutely love meeting new people. I love getting to know people that normally I wouldn't ever get to know or be introduced to.
My personality is very down-to-earth. I am very sarcastic (very) as well as very blunt.
Opinionated too, I suppose.
Currently I live in Kentucky.
I am moving to NC right after Thanksgiving to be with my soon-to-be hubby; Howie.

To those of you who are going:
Friday 6th November has been cancelled, due to poor ticket sales, so now it's just a weekend deal that starts off at 12pm instead of the initially proposed 5.30 pm.
However, you can still catch bands like Gama Bomb, Arthemis and Huron on Saturday and Sunday instead.

I had to share this! I just saw it today so sorry if any of you have seen it already. There was a blackout and Tony decided to continue on without the rest of the band. The keytar solo was hilarious! This was great, good job Tony haha!

Since my guitarist landed a spot on his school's radio station, the rest of us decided to invade it. So if you like any of the songs/bands below and have nothing to do @ 10 on Tuesdays, give it a shot. The school archives it... so there might be a podcast once the semester is over.
And anyone in a band who wants a phone interview... like I said, the show is archived, so we could throw you a copy of the interview.
ALSO... at 12 there's a more diverse show, White Lightning who plays everything from Bad Brains to Beethoven. He constructs it in a way that the show segues within itself to other genres and to the next show. And in between is a hip-hop show Turn It Up, through a lack of communication we ended up with their spot this week.

| "Gothic" metal - what is it? |

I should mention that I personally don't consider bands like My Dying Bride, Swallow the Sun or Paradise Lost as gothic metal - they're just death/doom for me, and even though two of the ones that I've cited are sometimes credited with influencing most bands that seem to often carry the label of this genre I feel that they've become something that may be considered distinctive (I certainly think so, myself).
My question though, 'what is gothic metal' may irk a number of you guys also because of its connotations with symphonic bands like Madder Mortem, Leaves' Eyes, etc. as well as whether it's a legitimate subgenre like thrash, black metal and so on. These sort of bands aren't my taste and (to me) seem to make up the majority of "gothic metal", but I'm beginning to wonder as to whether it is indeed fair to equate the label with that particular sound. It wasn't until recently that I found that bands which fall into this category don't necessarily have to have a symphonic sound (i.e. violins, cellos and such and such), which has led to me trying to reconsider what gothic metal IS and where its apparent place in metal as a whole seems to lie. Hence, why I've decided to ask since I feel that by being dismissive of bands which are given this label I'm not really being fair (or am perhaps relying too much on category names to a degree).. So would it be alright to discuss this, or is the answer to my original question more or less right under my nose?
(That said, will there ever be a metal equivalent of iconic "goth rock" groups like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees and so on as silly as this may sound...)
