Peg won't admit to this, but this is the result he got on a "What guitar are you?" quiz. lmao. He's a Fender strat! hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Red Fender '50s Strat w/maple fretboard...let's dance de blues again
You're a Fender Stratocaster! Probably the most
well-known guitar design in existence, you have
a growly, emotional sound that's perfect for
everything but nu-metal (and what
self-respecting musician plays that anyway?)
You're not flashy, but you've got it where it
counts - style and class. Way to go.

good point. =D
I don't really know why it's bad, but my b/f's always making fun of strats.. so I found it funny that was the result he got.

Peg's opinion:

Strats are not bad guitars. And by that, I mean real fender strats, and not the mexican made ones. They have a specific tone that (almost?) nothing else can reproduce.. yet a variety of tones. Especially for blues or jazz.

HOWEVER. Can the tone be reproduced, or are there guitars with better (read: different) tones out there? Maybe, and yes.

Also... it has an alder body (common, nothing special), generally a solid colored paint (to cover up ugly wood, which is why cheap guitars have solid paint colors), no beautiful topwood with a transparent or natural finish (common to custom or very expensive guitars), a tremolo that stays in tune (or doesn't it?), no binding, no special inlays but dots, and a decent amount of plastic included.

And how much do these things cost? Over a grand if you want a real one... $300 mexican strats don't count. IMO, not worth it.

I'll accept any guitar dual btw... =)

Yeah, lol. Fuck the people that make fun of him for it. I wasn't actually "making fun", it's just that I think they're not worth the money, plus I think they looked very outdated, but's that's just my opinion. Maybe it's because they're copied so much that I don't like the looks.

I know you don't know anything about guitars, but actually I'd say a Mex strat is better in it's own way, as far as price goes. Either pay over $1,000 for what I described above, or $300 for a Mex with slightly less quality, and maybe throw in an extra $100 in it to upgrade it. That may be a decent guitar, to me.

Sorry I ramble, haha.
